Ingredients and spices that need to be Get to make Hyderabadi Aloo Matar Gosht:

  1. 400 gm Green Peas or Matar
  2. 400 gm Lamb Bone-in
  3. 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  4. 3 tbsp Oil
  5. 2 Tomatoes chopped
  6. 2 Onions chopped
  7. 2-3 Green Chillies
  8. 1 small bunch chopped Coriander Leaves
  9. 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  10. 2 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli powder
  11. 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  12. 1 tsp Coriander powder

Instructions to make Hyderabadi Aloo Matar Gosht

  1. Heat Oil in a pressure cooker. Add Ginger garlic paste and the Onions that are finely chopped. Saute until translucent. Add the rest of the powdered spices and the meat as well. Saute all that for about 3-4 minutes and then add chopped Tomatoes too. Ripe one's are the best. Cook on a low heat for further 3 minutes. You can also add slit Green Chillies too.
  2. Also add some of the chopped Coriander Leaves and half of the Salt too. Otherwise meat wouldn't be tasty enough. It would be bland. Don't directly pressure cook. Saute or roast well before actually closing the lid for pressure cooking. If you add everything to the cooker and then roast or Bhuno it later, the results might not be satisfactory.
  3. Pressure cook for 6-7 whistles or as required. Then open the lid once the steam settles down. Add Potatoes and the Green Peas or Batane ki Phalli as it's called here in the City. If you desire, you can pressure cook just for 2 more whistles. It's optional. Otherwise just cover and cook on a low heat for the next 15-18 minutes just as I did.
  4. Since it's a semi dry Curry, add water only if necessary. Adjust Salt and add the other half of the chopped Coriander Leaves. That's it. It's all ready to be dished out. Enjoy! Yum!
